Paul Mew Associates prepared a parking study to address the loss of kerbside parking resulting from the proposed development: the demolition of the current buildings and the erection of one two-bedroom and 5 four-bedroom houses with off-street parking for 12 cars, and to ascertain the increase in parking stress above existing levels.
An extensive series of parking surveys were carried out as part of Reading Borough Council's review of its parking and loading enforcement operation. A team of local surveyors carried out on-street surveys at 120 locations within the borough over a two week period. Information on duration of stay, turnover and legality of parking acts were recorded and analysed.
At peak periods traffic had been experiencing difficulties in getting in and out of this retail park in Brighton. Paul Mew Associates examined the existing site access and car park layout and were able to propose a series of changes to resolve the reported problems.
