Preparation of Transport Assessment and Travel Plan in support of plans for a new Hampton by Hilton hotel in the London Borough of Ealing. Servicing of the new site was key to the development of the scheme as access is limited by neighbouring development. Working with the developer and with the input of the local planning and highways authorities a solution acceptable to all was achieved.
An extensive external and internal refurbishment of the existing building has resulted in a striking new development of modern office space, a Mondrian hotel, restaurants and retail space. We have been involved throughout the planning process from the initial design stage to planning consent and post-consent condition discharge with ongoing Travel Plan implementation and monitoring.
We were commissioned to prepare a Transport Statement and Travel Plan to accompany the application by Greenwich Council for the formation of a new equestrian centre at this site on Shooters Hill. TRICS trip generation forecasts were produced, planned parking provision assessed and onsite manoeuvrability analysed using AutoTrack. We provided highways advice for the Demolition and Construction Method Statement and were on hand at the public exhibition to answer any transport related queries.
Paul Mew Associates have been working with Travelodge Hotels, their planning consultants and construction contractors for over 20 years on developments across the UK. In recent years this has increasingly included the preparation of Travel Plans and Delivery and Service Plans. City centre sites with good links to public transport are able to provide car-free development while developments in tourist areas have their own unique local characteristics. Recent locations we have worked on include the City of London, Reading, Devizes, Watford, Blackpool, Sheffield and Aberdeen.
Preparation of highways planning submissions to support development proposals for Macdonald Hotels at locations across the UK. As part of the assistance provided, we have prepared numerous transport assessments, parking studies and travel plans, acting also as Travel Plan Coordinator at a number of sites.
Working alongside the project architects, Allies and Morrison, we supported the planning application for a new visitor centre, box office, and retail space by means of the preparation of a Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, Construction Logistics Plan, and Delivery Service Plan.
We assisted the hotel operator in relation to Transport Assessment, Travel Plan, and Construction Logistic Plans as part of proposals for a rooftop extension at this key location in central London. Of particular importance was resolving construction access to the site and arrangements for large goods vehicles to deliver plant and materials for craning to the rooftop construction site.
